Intoxicated with his own achievements, Emperor Qianlong put much time and energy into artworks at his old age. He sometimes made poems and ordered the Imperial kiln to manufacture porcelain wares with his poems written on them. This big vase, above, decorated with Qianlong's poems, was also featured with a new shape during the Qianlong period. It sold for 27,025,000 RMB at the China Guardian 2014 Spring Auctions.
