Syed Hasan Javed (C) introduces his new book titled 'Chinese Soft Power Code.'

The book titled 'Chinese Soft Power Code,' authored by Syed Hasan Javed, a Pakistani ex-diplomat and former Ambassador was launched in Beijing Tuesday evening amid a select gathering of former Chinese diplomats, media, scholars, and participants from the Pakistan Embassy and the Peking University.

Introducing the book, his fourth book on a topic related to China, author Hasan Javed described it as a humble enabler for understanding the cultural elements that permeate the daily lives of the Chinese, fuelling their rise as a major world power.

"This book draws on my observations of nearly a decade of my stay in China. I learnt the theory of Chinese soft power and their rich social capital heritage from their practice in daily life. My book is a collection of ancient and modern eclectic soft power values, attributes and wisdom. It also comprises a study on Pakistan's soft power heritage and historical and cultural linkages with China. My objective in writing this book is to create value by sharing values, develop cultural interoperability to help harness collective Asian wisdom, including Chinese wisdom," Hasan Javed told the audience.

Ambassador Masood Khalid speaking on the occasion spoke highly of the author and his works. He lauded the hard work put in by the author and termed it as yet another contribution towards China-Pakistan friendship.

Several participants including former Ambassadors of China to Pakistan shared their thoughts about the book and its significance in promoting greater understanding of each other's cultures and societies.
