'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' tops Chinese box office

Disney's "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" won the first place of Chinese box office in the week ending Jan. 8, earning 211 million yuan (30.4 million U.S. dollars), China Film News reported Monday.

"Some Like It Hot," a domestic comedy, landed in second place for the week, earning 193 million yuan.

"Railroad Tigers," a domestic comedy featuring Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan, dropped to the third place this week, taking in 110 million yuan.

"The Great Wall," the epic action-adventure film directed by Zhang Yimou, came fourth with a revenue of 75 million yuan. It has generated 1.1 billion yuan since its release on Dec. 16.

Rounding out the top five was domestic romance "See You Tomorrow", which took 35 million yuan.
