Beijing gets a taste of Broadway

Theater The Broadway Classic Music Dance Review, a show that mixes extracts from 16 top Broadway musicals, premiered at Beijing's Tianqiao Performing Arts Center on Sunday. It was staged by the American Musical Theater Dance Company.

Directed and choreographed by Bod Richard and Diane Laurenson, a veteran Broadway couple, the show included songs such as All That Jazz from the musical Chicago, New York, New York from On The Town, Adelaide's Lament from Guys and Dolls, Cool from West Side Story, and Wish You Were Somehow Here Again from Phantom of the Opera.

Some 40 performers on Broadway, including Lauren Weinberg, Evy Ortiz and Josh Houghton, participated in the show.
