Organizers announced on Wednesday in Beijing that the Fifth China Xinjiang International Dance Festival will be held in summer.

The festival is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, the State Council Information Office, and Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region government and will take place from July 20 - Aug. 5.

Themed with "The China's Dream - The Colorful Silk Road," the event will invite top dance groups and troupes from Xinjiang local areas, other Chinese cities and international community including Russia, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Poland and Pakistan to perform more than 60 shows during the 17 days when the festival is held.

The China Xinjiang International Dance Festival has already become a known cultural brand after four editions were held, said Aierken Tuniyazi, vice chairman and standing member of the CPC committee of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

He added the festival displays the charms of Xinjiang's culture, enhances the exchanges and cooperation among countries and promotes the friendship among peoples along the Belt and Road Initiative countries, since the most well-known route of the historical Silk Road ran through the territory of Xinjiang from the east to its northwestern border.
