Famous contemporary art pieces on display in Beijing

Dozens of contemporary art pieces by Chinese and other international artists including Italian painter-sculptor Gianni Dessi, famous Chinese artist Wang Luyan and Wang Yuping, are now on display at the Parkview Museum in Beijing.

They are part of the collection of late Chinese art collector and businessman George Wong. Internationally-acclaimed curator Lóránd Hegyi arranged this exhibition to commemorate George Wong and his contribution to the arts by educating the public with his personal collections.

The exhibition titled Art and Mission: George Wong 1952-2017 is divided into two sections.

One section is focused on the presentation of artworks which manifest in different aspects of Wong's engagement in contemporary art and also reflects his personal relationships with artists who donated artworks to the museum.

The other section presents numerous documents, photos, videos and publications which refer to George Wong's various activities in the field of architectural and artistic projects, educational and public activities and environmental protection initiatives including the global contemporary art exhibition "On Sharks and Humanity".
