Award-winning Chinese artist Yang Feifei will join a concert that brings East and West popular cultures together on one stage in New York on Sunday.
"FEI Music: A Fusion Music Concert," scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 2 at the historic Flushing Town Hall in the New York City borough of Queens, features singing, Erhu playing and a little bit of choreography from Feifei, a dual 2017 Global Music Award Winner -- Female Vocalist & Popular music.
The event will explore a wide range of musical genres and artists, with selections ranging from 1930s Shanghai vintage songs to 2018 Billboard top 100 tracks.
"The FEI Music concert exemplifies the mission of Flushing Town Hall by bringing global arts to a global audience," said the non-profit organization's Executive and Artistic Director Ellen Kodadek. "This creative and inspiring performance will appeal to jazz aficionados and pop music lovers alike."
Feifei began her music training with the Huqin, the Chinese two-stringed fiddle, at the age of nine in northeastern China. As a performer, Feifei has released several singles and albums, including Dance of the Strings (composer and performer on acoustic and electric Erhu), Vermillion Bird (Erhu), and Gu Ran (Erhu).
