According to Qiu Yue, general manager of Tianxiang Studio Tencent Penguin Pictures, co-producer of Rave Now, it took about 16 months to prepare for the show. She added that she has been impressed by the vitality and creativity of today's young Chinese electronic music makers.
"Music is evolving every day and the young Chinese musicians are open to the latest technology. This has enabled them to bring out high-quality music. We want to present these interesting and talented Chinese musicians onstage," says Qiu.
"The music genre has been well-received by young audiences. Through this show, they will get to learn even more about the genre."
Alan Walker, a 21-year-old Norwegian producer, opened the show with his 2015 breakout single Faded. Walker in 2017 took the No. 1 position on the QQ Music charts, a major online streaming service in China with over 6 billion audio streams. Other guest stars on the show include Chinese singers Meng Meiqi, Duan Aojuan and Yamy, three members of the pop group Rocket Girls 101.
