The Mongolian government on March 18 approved a national program to promote the traditional Mongolian script and improve its usage across the country.
The program aims to enhance preparations for using both Cyrillic and traditional Mongolian scripts to write legal papers and official documents starting from 2025, the government press office said in a statement.
Under the program, a total of 56 relevant measures will be taken from 2020 to 2024, it said.
The traditional Mongolian script is a writing system created specifically for the Mongolian language. It is written in vertical lines.
