Editor's Note:

Spring Festival, the most profitable season of the year for movies, was lost this year due to COVID-19. Now, the film industry is eagerly awaiting the 8-day holidays, including Mid-autumn Festival and the National Day holiday, to make up lost profits in the remaining quarter of 2020. During the holiday, three blockbusters intended for the previous Spring Festival will finally be released.

Despite the novel coronavirus crisis, thanks to China's effective control of the outbreak, theaters were able to reopen in late July. Over the holidays they will be allowed to raise their seating capacity to 75%, hopefully spurring further recovery of the film market and giving hope to cinemas and film industries all around the world.

This is a preview of the upcoming blockbusters and smaller films that look set to revive the market for the holidays.
