An international film festival focusing on Silk Road cultural collaboration published a list of 17 recommended movies on Friday.
The films were selected by world-renowned professionals from more than 3,500 films from 116 countries and regions during the 7th Silk Road International Film Festival held from Oct. 11 to 16 in Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi province.
The recommended movies include 11 feature films, three documentaries and three cartoons, including "Yellow Cat," "Sunless Shadows," and "Persian Lessons."
Joint productions between countries and collaborations between professionals from different industries will bring vitality into the film industry, said Peter Dinges, chief executive officer of the German Federal Film Board.
Shaanxi is home to the Terracotta Warriors and the starting point of the Silk Road. First held in 2014, the Silk Road International Film Festival is hosted annually by Shaanxi and east China's Fujian province in turn.
