Visitors will also get a glimpse of the city's development through photos of the first 10,000-ton hydraulic machine in China manufactured by Shanghai Jiangnan Shipyard in 1961 and the first computer in China developed at Fudan University in 1956.
Other highlights of the exhibition are items collected by the museum recently and shown to the public for the first time, such as the leaflets made by the Communist Party of China in Shanghai before the city's liberation in 1949. The historical relics were donated earlier in May by Chen Yixin, a 90-year-old Party member who joined the Party in Shanghai during a high school study in 1947.
