The 30th edition of the Ulan Bator Book Festival, held twice a year, kicked off on Friday here under the motto "Let's read everyday" to promote a reading culture.
With the support of the country's parliament speaker Gombojav Zandanshatar, the three-day festival is co-organized by Ulan Bator's cultural department and the non-governmental organization World of Book Culture at the central square of Ulan Bator.
"The book festival is a holiday for everyone who values books and culture. Our goal is to make people read more books and feed their minds with reading," said Bat-Erdene Suvd, head of World of Book Culture.
More than 200 book publishers and authors set up their pavilions at the event to introduce and sell their works, according to the organizers.
In addition, activities to promote the national script, culture and costumes are also expected to be held at the festival.
