Editor's note: Two heavyweight exhibitions themed around an opera master and the spirit of sports and global unity against the pandemic, respectively, as well as a festival concert by China's top orchestra – here are three events you won't want to miss this week.
1, Photo exhibition — 'Mei Lanfang: His Art, His Life'
In memory of Mei Lanfang (1894-1961), one of the most respected Peking opera artists in modern history, the photo exhibition "Mei Lanfang: His Art, His Life" kicked off featuring more than 400 objects and around 600 photographs displaying his creations during different historical periods. The exhibition pays tribute to the great master's important contributions to the development of Chinese opera and cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, showcasing the charm of Peking Opera.

2, Festival Waltz: Lyu Jia and NCPAO
Conducted by Chinese conductor Lyu Jia, the China NCPA Orchestra will bring audiences the most familiar melodies from both home and abroad, including "Blue Danube," "Voices of Spring Waltz," "Champagne Polka" and "Fengyang Flower-Drum" to celebrate the upcoming Chinese Spring Festival.

3, Exhibition — 'Light of Life: The 9th Beijing International Art Biennale'
"The 9th Beijing International Art Biennale" will be of historic significance, fully reflecting the spirit of sports and global unity against the COVID-19 pandemic. Beyond the more than 700 artworks from 117 countries around the world, the exhibition also showcases five additional special exhibitions.
