A chamber concert celebrating traditional and modern Chinese music classics was held in the historic House for Mozart in Salzburg, Austria on Sunday evening.
Themed "Image China," the concert charmed the local audiences with a series of famous Chinese music pieces including violin concerto "the Butterfly Lovers," piano concerto "the Yellow River," and song "Ode to the Yangtze River."
The concert was conducted by Christian Pollack and performed by the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra and a number of Chinese and Austrian musicians.
The event was co-hosted by China Arts and Entertainment Group and the Chinese Cultural Association in Austria.
"By holding the concert during the Chinese Spring Festival, we hope to extend our festive greetings to the local audiences and introduce them to Chinese music classics at this special time," said Chang Kai, president of the Chinese Cultural Association in Austria.
The Sunday concert is part of the cultural exchange initiative "Image China" presented by China Arts and Entertainment Group, which aims to introduce traditional and contemporary Chinese performing arts to audiences around the world.
