First Tibetan TED speaker Nyima Wangdu talked about his new book on his education experience and blind students with readers in Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region on Friday.
Nyima Wangdu’s story spans three decades and includes how he overcame obstacles to become a principal of Tibetan school for blind children.
He hopes to encourage the blind to be brave and persistent when weathering the storms of life and encourage them through his stories.
Nyima Wangdu lost his sight when he was three months old. He attended the school for blind children in 2002 and eventually took over as principal. He would like to make the blind community better understood by society and the world, ensuring greater equality and respect.
