French actor Vincent Lindon has been chosen as the President of the eight-member Jury of the 75th Cannes Film Festival, the organizers announced on Tuesday.
"With my Jury, we will strive to take the best possible care of the films of the future, all of which carry the same secret hope of courage, loyalty, and freedom, with a mission to move the greatest number of women and men by speaking to them of their common wounds and joys," Lindon said in a press release.
The last French celebrity to be the Jury President of the festival was Isabelle Huppert in 2009.
For anniversary years of the festival, French celebrities were Jury Presidents such as in 1987 for the 40th edition with Yves Montand, in 1993 for the 45th edition with Gerard Depardieu and in 1997 for the 50th edition with Isabelle Adjani.
