During the closure time, the resort's reservation service center still answered. A total of 20 staff were stationed at the resort for nearly three months, dealing with questions for tourists every day and processing orders-related applications such as refunds or date changes.

Xu Yizheng, one staff at the resort's reservation service center, remembered: "Many our guests not only cared about these Disney characters they love, but left messages for the cast members, asking them to protect themselves, and hope that everyone can endure this period safely and healthily. These messages warmed our hearts."

At the end of May, the facility operation service team started to test the rides. In particular, the heavy sandbags that simulate the actual weight of a human need to be placed on and moved off the seat of the riding equipment according to the requirements. However, an insufficient workforce made such a workload a significant challenge for on-site personnel. But staff and cast members of various attractions actively came to aid. Eventually, the Dumbo the Flying Elephant rides and Fantasia Carousel successfully completed the preliminary tests.

The support team of the resort's entertainment and performance department also took advantage of years of experience and understanding of the equipment to check and test the status of some critical equipment.

At one point, Lin Chao and Lu Yapeng from the department jumped inside the pits of a facility that provides sound and lighting support for Disneyland's iconic show "ILLUMINATE! A Nighttime Celebration." They worked there for eight hours to drain the stagnant water, which ensured the safe operation of the equipment and laid an essential foundation for the preparatory work for the theme park's opening.

In the end, Zhu Genhua said that his most unforgettable moment during the closure period was when the lights of the Enchanted Storybook Castle came on because at that moment, "all the troubles seemed to have gone."

He added, "the cast members of the duty team were looking forward to seeing the castle and its surroundings light up again as early as possible because that means our colleagues are back, and the day is not far away when the resort will reopen, and when you can see smiles on the faces of our guests all over again."
