A public interest activity, called Low-carbon and Organic Alliance for the Future, kicked off in Beijing on Aug 18.

The activity was jointly organized by the China Environmental Protection Foundation, Yili Satine, a dairy brand of the Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group, and the Central Academy of Fine Arts.

Students from the academy will take part in the activity to create publicity materials on sustainable development, which will be spread through various channels to professionals and the general public with the aim of popularizing environmental protection concepts.

On June 5, the World Environment Day, the foundation and Yili Satine also jointly advocated companies to adopt environmentally friendly packaging. Yili Satine took the lead to use brown paper packs that are made from recycled dairy product cartons, and it also reduced the amount of printing ink used in the process of packaging.

These low-carbon packs have now become raw materials for the arts students to create various kinds of creative works of pragmatism, which will be exhibited both online and offline.

The process of their artistic creation will also be recorded in vlog and broadcasted on different social networking platforms that are popular among the young people.

The organizers of the activity said that it is to be hoped that arts students can take full advantage of their talents and create art works so as to raise the public's awareness on sustainable consumption and healthy lifestyle.
