To celebrate Emirati Women's Day, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Beijing and Tencent Music Entertainment Group co-hosted an online event on Friday to commend the contributions and achievements of Emirati women.

A playlist entitled "Happy Emirati Women's Day: We Sing for Her," including songs from Chinese and Emirati female artists, was organized on Tencent's QQ Music.

This year's Emirati Women's Day is themed "Inspiring Reality, Sustainable Future," highlighting the country's women's empowerment journey.

In 2022, Emirati women will continue to lead and manage crucial projects in the advanced science, space, energy, and health sectors. Emirati Women's Day provides an opportunity to celebrate women's efforts and recognize their pivotal role in the nation's growth.

"The UAE is grateful to Emirati women for their numerous contributions to the country. They have been an integral part in the most prominent achievements of the UAE throughout our past, attesting to the indispensable role they play in various fields," noted UAE Ambassador to China Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri. "As an inclusive, open, and tolerant society, the UAE is committed to empowering Emirati women. Now, Emirati women are preparing to head into space, having achieved records on the ground in senior positions, diplomatic missions, the armed forces, and national service, as well as in other areas, such as aviation, renewable and clean energy, technology, engineering, and medicine."

Over the past 50 years, the UAE has endeavored to empower its women and girls through various landmark initiatives and laws. Going forward, Emirati women will continue to play a critical role in ushering in the next 50 years of innovation, prosperity, and sustainability.

The event was supported by the Department of International Exchanges and Cooperation of China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Etihad Airways, and Hala China, an initiative to enhance the bilateral relations between China and the UAE.
