Works of impressionist and post-impressionist artists have been the favorable subjects of digital art shows these years, for their signature rich color palettes and the dynamism of life presented under their brushes. Paul Cezanne (1839-1906), for example, will be the next in a line of such painters featured in an immersive exhibition to be staged in Beijing.
Seasons of Cezanne, which opens at Today Art Museum on March 14, intends to provide the audience multisensory experiences of the French artist's life and work, with the aid of high-resolution projectors, naked-eyed 3D image display and other technologies.
Animated, magnified details of Cezanne's most celebrated paintings on top-ceiling display screens will embark viewers upon a time machine to a world of landscapes, fruits and figures in which Cezanne injected his passion of nature and life, as well as into the social and cultural atmospheres of 19th-century France.
