This delicate and marvelous artwork reflects Ge Zhicheng's introspection, observations and struggles. He expresses, "Just as the world cannot fully understand me, I am also incapable of fully understanding it. In order to comprehend the outside world, I cut myself off from it, leading to an inevitable entanglement with it. I sought the lost spirit hidden within myths and history while grappling with the stimuli and pressures of everyday life. However, things then were the same as they are now." Professor Bai Ming supervised this artwork.
