"The Flying Dutchman," one of Richard Wagner's most performed operas, will hit the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) stage from April 10 to 14.
The opera tells the story of a Dutchman, who is cursed by a demon to lead a vagrant life on the sea until he meets a woman who is truly in love with him and willing to sacrifice for him when he is allowed to go on shore every seven years.
Wagner wrote the romantic mythical opera based on Scandinavian folklore and his own stormy sea crossing experience.
The show premiered in 2012 as the first Wagner opera produced by the NCPA.
