This summer, the National Aquatics Center in Beijing has launched a variety of attractions for visitors to beat the heat. Among them, the "Honor the Water" light show offers an immersive audio-visual experience.

Over 40 high-precision projectors are used to create a stunning 3,000-square-meter high-definition laser display that celebrates past Olympic competition highlights as well as the Games' history.

The show premiered on July 22 and drew thousands of visitors to the venue's Olympic Competition Hall.

Pu Jianbo, general manager of the National Aquatics Center, emphasized in a press release for the light show that the venue is committed to promoting Olympic culture and spirit, particularly through this new light show. He noted that the project is designed to revive the Olympic spirit and attract more young people to experience the dual-Olympic atmosphere of the venue. He also highlighted the center's diverse offerings of cultural and tourism activities this summer.

As a venue that hosted both the Summer and Winter Olympics in 2008 and 2022, respectively, the National Aquatics Center has been an epicenter for many historic moments during the Games. The light show aims to highlight these significant events and share the Olympic spirit with a broader audience, while also sending best wishes to the athletes competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics, which opens on July 26.

As this year marks the 60th anniversary of China-France diplomatic relations, the National Aquatics Center also hopes this light show will bridge the Olympic host cities of Beijing and Paris through the theme of water, further honoring the Olympic spirit.

Beyond the light show, the center offers a variety of summer camp opportunities and sports training programs for teenagers, including various types of swimming, curling and paddleboarding. The facility has also expanded its offerings to include activities such as table tennis, dance and traditional Chinese crafts.

In addition to sports, the National Aquatics Center offers educational programs that focus on physical fitness, Olympic culture, science and architecture. These programs, which include study tours, camps and overnight stays, are designed to ignite young people's curiosity and imaginations, promoting their interest in science, technology and overall fitness.

As a dual-Olympic venue, the National Aquatics Center has crafted a diverse cultural tourism experience, combining swimming, curling and other sports with educational and camp activities.
