With the Great Wall and Machu Picchu as symbols of cultural exchange, the film showcases the civilizations of China and Peru, highlights the shared cultural elements and values of the two countries, and demonstrates the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind.

In five chapters, the documentary displays cultural treasures from both countries, including the pottery figure Curayacu Venus and a Sican gold mask from Peru, and a painted pottery vase from the Dadiwan site and a gold mask from the Sanxingdui site in China.

Stories are also shared of those who contribute to cultural exchanges between the two countries — a musician from Henan Museum's Huaxia Ancient Music Orchestra performs the Peruvian song El Condor Pasa with a replica of the ancient Jiahu bone flute, and a Peruvian couple brings their handmade alpaca plush toys to the China International Import Expo in Shanghai.

"At the beginning of this documentary, we aimed to have a grand and expansive vision. We envisioned it as an epic visual tale of civilizations. However, the final documentary highlights engaging stories and intricate details," says Ye Jing, the documentary's chief director.

"Exchanges between civilizations are about uncovering stories that genuinely resonate and forge an emotional connection in the two countries."

From Nov 17, the film is aired on the China Global Television Network, China Media Group Mobile and the National Institute of Radio and Television of Peru in seven languages.
