The Echoes of Liangzhu concert was held as part of the second Liangzhu Forum on Monday night at Tiaoxi Grand Theater in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.

Guests from around the world gathered at the theater to see a grand national orchestra play enchanting music amidst interwoven lights and shadows.

Antonio Pompa-Baldi, head of the piano department at the Cleveland Institute of Music, said: "I thought this was an extraordinary concert. I'm not an expert in Chinese traditional music. I recognize the different instruments, but I thought the blend between Western and Chinese instruments was perfect, going totally appropriately with the subject of this forum, which is exchange between different cultures and different civilizations. The music was exquisite and it was performed absolutely masterfully, so I enjoyed it immensely."

The concert was organized by the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, featuring nearly a hundred faculty and student performers. Centered on the Liangzhu Civilization, the concert presents 10 pieces of ethnic music representing Chinese cultural heritage, Jiangnan aesthetic characteristics and diverse performance styles.

Zhejiang boasts stunning landscapes, idyllic water towns and tranquil lakes, where music merges with nature. By honoring the principles of civilization, the concert created harmonious melodies. It forged a shared symphony of coexistence and resonance through rituals and music.
