A vibrancy of colors and a reflective texture are the usual impressions at first sight of the paintings of Jiang Peihua.
Colors flow freely under his strokes to constitute scenes that remind one of a bird's-eye view of the various geographical landscapes on the planet — rivers, streams and mountains, to name a few.
But what Jiang depicts is more than giving a colorful definition of the physical world.
His approach to painting has imbued the philosophical takes, from Chinese cultural traditions, on the cosmos and the interactions between people and nature.
Jiang's solo exhibition in Beijing displays dozens of his paintings in which he portrays the transformations between fullness and emptiness, stillness and motion.
