The costume drama Flourished Peony, currently airing on Mango TV and Hunan Satellite TV, tells a fictional story of a woman named He Weifang who, during the Tang Dynasty (618-907), runs a business cultivating peonies and managing a flower shop.

Starring actress Yang Zi and actor Li Xian, the drama shows the gardens, architecture and attire of the Tang Dynasty, allowing viewers to experience the beauty of traditional Chinese culture. Through the plot, the drama not only provides a deep understanding of the historical origins and cultural values of peonies but also boosts the development of the peony industry in reality.

During the series broadcast, many cities saw a surge in sales at peony plantations and flower markets.

Zhao Wenshuang, the secretary-general of the Peony Industry Association in Mudan district, Heze city of Shandong province, mentioned that due to the popularity of the TV series, the peak sales period for peonies in Heze arrived three days earlier this year, with sales expected to increase by one-third compared to the same period in previous years.

The series has also premiered overseas with wide distribution on video platforms, reaching 73 countries and regions, including the United States, France, Spain, and Portugal.
