The action plan includes 34 initiatives across six areas to strengthen Beijing's position as an international technology innovation hub and cultural center. Beijing aims to build a robust sci-fi industry ecosystem reaching 60 billion yuan in key sectors by 2025. The city projects the industry will exceed 100 billion yuan by 2027 as it seeks to emerge as a global hub for science fiction content and production.
The three-year plan calls for developing 10 leading enterprises and 60 key companies while creating eight to 10 globally recognized sci-fi intellectual properties. The city also plans to build 10 world-class sci-fi themed venues and cultivate at least 100 industry professionals.
