The 15th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) Science & Technology section has launched a science-themed film showcase at the China Science and Technology Museum running through May 5.
The showcase, themed "Our Science Films," presents a diverse selection of international movies exploring scientific themes and technological advances.
The program features 50 films from 14 countries and regions, with nearly half making their Chinese debuts. The screenings span six thematic areas, including natural environments, aerospace, cutting-edge technology and fantasy animation, creating a science film experience for all age groups.
A special "Classic Review" section presents award-winning films from previous festivals, displayed through advanced projection technologies, including dome screens, giant screens and 4D.
The museum is offering 1,200 free tickets daily through online reservations on its website and WeChat platform. Visitors can also participate as judges in a "Best Film Selection" event with chances to win free tickets.
From April 12-13, the museum will host family-friendly science film workshops based on the films "Tyrannosaurus" and "The Amazing Maurice 4D."
During the festival, the museum's science culture talk show "Beichen Dialogue" will air special episodes discussing the relationship between film, science and art, as well as the educational role of science films in science museums.
