The Lize Financial Business District of Beijing (FBD) will create a 500,000 square meter-wide international top urban complex, making it a new landmark of southern Beijing, according to Fengtai District's delegation during Beijing's Two Sessions.

Ji Yan, chief of Fengtai District, said that three years after its establishment, financial services, high and new technology, high-end manufacturing and cultural and creative industries have become the new economic pillars of Fengtai district.

Ji said FBD has attracted 131 financial enterprises and headquarters so far with 50.9 billion yuan (US$8.17 billion) in registered capital. A large number of huge key constructions will be built, set to accelerate the gathering of the financial industry with emerging financial institutions.

According to the planning of Fengtai District, the economic aggregate of FBD will exceed 23 billion yuan (US$3.69 billion) by 2015 and taxes will reach 3 billion yuan (US$48.2 million). In addition, more than 750 enterprises will enter FBD, including at least 500 financial enterprises. Among them, 200 enterprises are mainly part of certain financial institutions such as banking, securities and insurance. The remaining 300 enterprises belong to emerging financial institutions.

The international top urban complex will be built by Beijing Capital Land. Located to the southwest of Caihuying Bridge, it will be constructed as a major financial port combining business offices, shopping and lodging.
