Zhongguancun's revenue hits 2.45tn yuan

Zhongguancun Science Park, China's first state-level hi-tech center, has shown much greater support for Beijing's innovative industries in recent years, according to data recently released by the science park's management committee.

 

The science park, also known as the country's premier science and technology development zone, raked in a total revenue of 2.45 trillion yuan (US$388.9 billion) in 2012, 2.7 times that of 2007, with an average annual growth of more than 20 percent for five consecutive years.

Data show that profits of enterprises based in Zhongguancun amounted to 173.1 billion yuan (US$27.5 billion) in 2012, up by 13 percent year on year. They paid a taxation of 150 billion yuan (US$23.8 billion ), up by 50 percent.

The enterprises from high-end industries, including modern services, advanced manufacturing and bio-medical industries, showed a faster growth in revenue at about 30 percent, respectively.
