Beijing's Dongcheng district will integrate and upgrade current tourism resources along the Central Line and build three areas, including civil culture and commercial areas, traditional imperial city tourist areas and traditional imperial city life experience areas. In addition, the district will improve traffic, environment and other public services.

Beijing's Central Line extends 7.8 km from Yongding Gate in the south to the Bell Tower in the north, and passes through many scenic spots, including Tian'anmen, Meridian Gate, Hall of Supreme Harmony, Palace of Heavenly Purity and the Drum Tower.

The Central Line connects four cities, including the Outer city, the Inner city, the Imperial city and the Forbidden City. Beijing is divided into eastern and western parts by the Central Line.
