Beijing's Fengtai District is storing water for an expo park, and expects the project to be completed before the expo's opening.

Beijing's Fengtai District is storing water for the upcoming Ninth China (Beijing) International Garden Expo in May, according to Fengtai Water Authority.

Local officials decided to add four million cubic meters of water to the expo's lake. The project will take a total of 80 days at a rate of 50,000 cubic meters per day.

Upon completion, the lake will reduce dust in the surrounding area and provide a good ecological impact for the Yongding river bank economy.
