A weeklong training course for the experts' team engaged in a restoration project of the cultural relics at the Palace Museum, in Beijing, was launched on June 26. A total of 47 people, including experts and inheritors of intangible cultural heritages, have been invited to participate in the restoration of millions of relics at the museum, also known as the Forbidden City. The first phase of the project, which was launched on the same day, will run for about half a year, and involves repairing ordinary artifacts in seven categories, including wooden furniture, palace lamps, carriages, traditional musical instruments, sabers and swords, helmets and tapestries. The more precious pieces will be repaired when the techniques are mature. [Photo/Chinanews.com]
