David, a Russian boy who is currently studying at Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU), went viral online on September 11, 2013, after his ID photo was posted on Weibo.com, China's most popular Twitter-like website. David, who serves as vice president of BLCU’s Student Union, came to China when he was only 16 years old. The handsome boy speaks fluent Chinese. He won the "Chinese Star" title during the 2012 "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Language Contest for International Students in China -- co-hosted by CCTV and Hanban (Confucius Institute Headquarters).
