In a slightly less serious match the World number One Novak Djokovic was here in Beijing for a special exhibition game against China's Number One Li Na. The Serbian showing off his Chinese, and having a go at umpiring, in a match that kicks off this years China Open.

The Diamond Court in Beijing is not Djokovic's home venue, but he still received a warm welcome. The Serbian knowing exactly how to entertain the local fans.

Li Na and Djokovic also marked the 10th anniversary of the China Open by cutting a massive cake on the court, before China's number one lined up against 2 children. The Serbian selflessly offering to umpire the match.

Then it was time to start the battle of the sexes. But if you thought the game would be one-sided think again. Li Na tweaking the rules, to give her quite an advantage.

With some typical tom-foolery from Djok, the pair entertained the 12 000 strong crowd in a mini-set consisting of 5 games. Li Na unsurprisingly winning it 3-2. But the result wasn't important. This, a chance to further promote the game in the middle kingdom, ahead of the 10th China Open which begins today.
