The 16th International Peach Blossom Music Festival kicked off in Beijing's Pinggu District on April 8, 2014. The festival, which will last until May 8, offers a grand visual feast on peach flowers stretching across 220,000 mu (14,666 hectares).

Dozens of rock and roll bands from home and abroad will stage outdoor entertainment for music fans every afternoon and evening to celebrate the 2014 Beijing International Pop Music Festival, which will last from May 1 to May 3.

Other cultural activities to be held include a cultural antiques fair, the 25th Yaji Mountain Daoism Cultural Fair, 4th Pinggu Stone Appreciation Festival and a gourmet festival.

Special routes are planned for those visitors who like to stroll through the sea of peach blossoms, as well as enjoy the delicious local cuisine at local farmers' houses.

Pinggu District, home to the world's largest peach blossom area, is dubbed one of the top ten destinations for viewing flowers in the world.
