A cartoon exhibition on the Xinhai Revolution, also known as the Revolution of 1911, opened in the Red Building at Beijing's Peking University on March 10.

Jointly organized by the Guangzhou Xinhai Revolution Memorial Hall and the Beijing New Culture Movement Memorial Hall, the exhibition will last until April 12.

The exhibition displays around 100 cartoons published in domestic and overseas newspapers and magazines from 1898 to 1913 that illustrate the revolution from a variety of different perspectives. The exhibition also features information on the historical events behind the cartoons.

In order to better preserve the original artworks, all the cartoons exhibited are replicas. Peking University is the exhibition's first stop in a national tour.
