Peach blossom in Pinggu District, Beijing attracts numerous visitors in spring every year. The district, known as home to the world's largest peach blossom area which covers a total land area of 220,000 mu (14,666 ha), is dubbed one of the top ten destinations for viewing flowers in the world. It is popular among tourists who are eager to feel the spring air after a long cold winter. The 17th Pinggu International Peach Blossom Music Festival kicked off on April 6, 2015, highlighting a series of sideline events, including a stone appreciation festival, a gourmet festival, a large-scale blind date event and other activities.
