Construction on the Yujiapu Railway Station, the terminal station of the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity High-speed Rail, has recently been completed. The station, known as the world's largest and deepest underground high-speed rail station, is slated to be put into operation in late August, 2015. The rail, with a designed top speed of 350 kilomters per hour, will held reduce the travel time from Beijing South Railway Station to the Yujiapu Financial Zone in Tianjin's Binhai New Area to only 45 minutes.
