After four years' construction, Tianqiao Performing Arts Center, the second modern theater complex in Beijing after the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), will open its door on November 20. The musical "The Phantom of the Opera," written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, will be the theater's opening performance. The theater, situated between Beijing Museum of Natural History and Tianqiao Theater in Southern Beijing, covers a land area of 1.65 hectares (16, 500 square meters). It has a Grand Theater with 1,600 seats, a Medium Theater with 1,000 seats, a Small Theater with 400 seats and a Multi-functional Hall with 300 seats. [Photo from bj.people.cn]
