The Chinese Ministry of Agriculture Wednesday unveiled a series
of plans to promote the sale of Chinese agricultural products both
at home and abroad.
China plans to build more overseas sales platforms abroad to
make domestic agricultural products available in the overseas
market.
Vice-Minister of Agriculture Niu Dun told a press conference
that an agricultural products sales-promotion mechanism has taken
shape in China which includes various sales service systems.
According to Niu, besides the overseas sales platforms, the
government will establish an on-line exhibition hall in the
country's major agriculture web site with which to attract more
than 6,000 agricultural products from about 4,000 domestic
companies.
In addition, the ministry will make more advertisements to
promote sales of domestic agricultural products, said Niu.
The ministry will organize more domestic and overseas
agricultural exhibitions this year to that effect.
About 26 national and international agricultural exhibitions
will be held in 2006, said Zhang Yuxiang, director of the market
and economic information department of the ministry.
Zhang said that the ministry will also help organize about 34
local agricultural fairs and participate in 17 international
agricultural fairs this year.
