The Russian Business Week and the Sino-Russia Government and
Enterprise Direct Connection Forum, was held recently in Changchun,
capital of Northeast China's Jilin Province, in a bid to speed up
cooperation and improve investment environment between the two
countries.
The Russian Business Week, an important part of the second China
Jilin Northeast Asia Investment and Trade Expo, was chaired by the
Ministry of Commerce of China, the Ministry of Economic Development
and Trade of Russian Federation, the Russian Federation Chamber of
Commerce and Industry and the Jilin provincial government.
Yi Xiaozhun, Vice Minister of Commerce gave a speech at the
opening ceremony. A total of 230 Chinese representatives and 220
Russian representatives attended this event.
Representatives share their opinions on the importance of
Sino-Russia government and enterprise direct connection, how to
improve the development of economy and trade, and strengthen
enterprise co-operation between the two countries.
Meanwhile, a light industry and textile products meeting and an
automobile and parts conference will also be held during the
Russian Business Week.
Statistics from Jilin provincial commerce department show that
total trade volume between Jilin Province and Russia was up to
US$179 million at the end of last year. By the end of this year the
import and export volumes between the two sides is expected to see
an increase of 50 per cent compared with that of 2005.
