China is willing to work with the Laos to implement the
consensus reached by the leaders of the two parties, said a senior
official from the Communist Party of China (CPC) Friday.
Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC
Central Committee, made the remarks in a meeting with Kehamkeut
Veunkham, deputy director of the general office of Lao People's
Revolutionary Party.
Both Chinese government and CPC value the traditional friendship
with Laos, said Wang. He hoped the two countries can be good
neighbors, friends and partners forever.
The frequent visits between top leaders of China and Laos have
laid solid foundation for the bilateral cooperation, mutual trust
and friendly relations, Wang noted.
Veunkham is leading a delegation from his party to visit China
ahead of the China-ASEAN summit which will include delegates from
Laos.
The summit will be held on October 30 to 31 in Nanning, capital
of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, to commemorate
the 15th anniversary of the establishment of China-ASEAN
dialogue.
Lao Ambassador to China Vichit Xindavong told Xinhua early this
week that he hoped the upcoming China-ASEAN summit will lead to the
establishment of new measures to strengthen the ASEAN -China
strategic partnership.
