During the past decade, the engine of global economic growth was the US consumer. China's economy grew largely by supplying exports to the US consumer market. Things have changed, though, in the midst of a serious global recession. Going forward, China's economic growth will likely be driven to a greater extent by the domestic consumption demands. We talk to Mr. Corey Lien in our program, trying to take a closer view into China's consumer market, which is likely to become the world's biggest one by 2015. Issues discussed include the emergence of China's LOHAS group, middle-class, price elasticity, and consumer preferences.
