Google said in January, 2015 that it aims to have a self-driving car on the road within five years, Reuters reported.

The company unveiled a fully functioning prototype of its driverless car on Dec 22, 2014 and planned to test the car on San Francisco Bay Area roads beginning in 2015, according to Wikipedia.
