The solar-powered plane, Solar Impulse 2, continues its journey around the world. It has took off from Myanmar's Mandalay after 21:00 GMT on Sunday and flew towards southwest China's Chongqing.

The vehicle is scheduled to make a short stop there and then flew to Nanjing, capital city of East China's Jiangsu province.

Then it will cross the Pacific Ocean, the United States, the Atlantic and southern Europe, before it arrives back in Abu Dhabi by late July. It took 12 years to design and build the plane.

The Solar Impulse 2 is as heavy as a family car at 23-hundred kilograms but has a wingspan as wide as the largest airliner.
