South Korea has found some egg products contaminated with pesticide, the country's Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs said on Tuesday.

The tainted eggs, found in a farm with 80,000 hens in Namyangju in eastern Seoul, were tested positive for a pesticide called Fipronil, the same found in 17 European countries earlier this month.

Three major supermarket chains Homeplus, Lotte Mart and E-Mart said they decided to stop selling eggs starting Tuesday as a "precautionary measure."
