Foreign trade of north China's port city of Tianjin rose 1.3 percent year on year to exceed 1 trillion yuan (about 141.2 billion U.S. dollars) in the first three quarters, local customs said Wednesday.
In breakdown, the city's exports totaled 474.4 billion yuan, while its imports hit 543.9 billion yuan during the period.
Tianjin's trade with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative kept stable growth to reach 276.1 billion yuan in the first three quarters of the year, up 4.3 percent compared with the same period of last year.
Private enterprises played a leading role in driving the city's foreign trade growth, with the trade volume increasing by 5.2 percent year on year to 437.9 billion yuan, which accounted for 43 percent of the city's total.
